International Powerlifting Federations

Live or travel abroad? Looking for a federation that will follow you around? The following list of federations have planted their flag in countries all across the world and have lifters going head to head on an international level. So if you're looking to kick some cultural ass and set some records that will be heard worldwide then this is the place to start. Pick your favorite and get lifting.

GPC: Global Powerlifting Committee
The GPC (and their European division the EGPC) are at the top of the international powerlifting circuit. The GPC promotes and supports world and intercontinental championships all over the map. They're dedicated to their lifters and continue to advance the sport on international levels.

IPA: Independent Powerlifting Association
The IPF is a young federation based out of Canada that's linked up with the Global Powerlifting Committee (GPC). They are dedicated to promoting the growth and development of powerlifting and helping athletes become stronger, faster, and more competitive. We like them already.

IPF: International Powerlifting Federation
The IPF is quickly becoming the "Gold Standard" of powerlifting. They've got massive lifters throwing around serious weight and their only real competition is themselves. Well, close enough. You know that if you can hold your own in an IPF meet then you've reached a level that most others only dream about.

WDFPF: World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation
This federation hosts numerous international competitions with some of the greatest lifters in the world. They use the same basic rules that you're accustomed to but they have one thing that a lot of other federations don't. Rigorous drug testing. The WDFPF is 100% drug free. Deal with it.

WPA: World Powerlifting Association
The WPA is home to some of the strongest powerlifters in the world including Ryan Kennelly and Gary Heisey. Never heard of them? You've got issues. These guys throw some serious weight around and know what it takes to compete at this level of the game. Check them out and learn from some of the best.

WPC: World Powerlifting Congress
The WPC and the American Powerlifting Federation (APF) go hand in hand and both are here to steal your records away from you. These guys don't play around. They've got some of the best lifters in the world on their side and the competition is fierce. If you're looking for an ass kicking... you've found it.

WPF: World Powerlifting Federation
The WPF (along with the USPF) is one of those federations that you can't forget even if you tried. They've been around supporting powerlifting for many years and continue to produce some of the finest lifters walking the platform today. The meets are lively and there's always strong competition. You can't go wrong.

WPO: World Powerlifting Organization
The World Powerlifting Organization is the pinnacle of powerlifting. If you take the best of the best from the APF and the WPC, the WPO is what you'll get. They've got full meet or bench press only events and only the strongest will survive. At this level there's only two options: in or out.

WUAP: World United Amateur Powerlifting
This is another great federation that is committed to powerlifting and promoting the sport on all levels. They are a drug tested federation with several member countries all over the world and they are the home of some of the best lifters around. The WUAP is a great choice for an international federation.
